What if this story was about Jews and not Muslims?

Jews who are kosher do not eat pork or shellfish for the following reason:

In the Bible, G‑d lists two requirements for an animal to be kosher (fit to eat) for a Jew: Animals must chew their cud and have split hooves. Pigs do have split hooves but do not chew their cud, so we cannot eat pig meat and its derivatives. In the seafood department, we may only eat fish that have both fins and scales. (Source)

Yet Jews whose job it is to check people out at a grocery store would likely not 'hold up' management to have a replacement employee handle the food as Muslim employees have done in England.

And, if the Jewish employees actually tried, management would likely fire them for making unreasonable demands!

But in a politically correct world where fear of retribution supersedes common sense, here is a story about the grocery chain Marks and Spencer in England and Ireland:

Marks & Spencer is facing a boycott from hundreds of customers furious at the store’s decision to allow Muslim staff to refuse to serve customers buying alcohol or pork products.

The policy was revealed after customers trying to buy pork or alcohol from a Muslim shop assistant in central London were told they would have to use another till because of the cashier's religion.

The chain has admitted, however, that it has breached its own internal policy - by forcing its staff to choose between their beliefs and their responsibilties to the supermarket.

A spokesperson for M&S said that it works closely with employees with specific beliefs that restrict what food or drink they can handle, but on this occasion it had to “regret” that it had not followed its own guidelines.

“Where we have an employee whose religious beliefs restrict food or drink they can handle, we work closely with our member of staff to place them in suitable role, such as in our clothing department or bakery in foods. (Source)

Government and Great Commercials vs Terrible Commercials (Video)

Not to bring politics into advertising but government and governmental entities obviously don't have to worry about commercials generating bottom-line results while the private sector does!

Let's start with the great commercials, one from Beats and the other from Carl's Jr. that will no doubt drive sales!

Then, to view two of the government inspired Ad Council commercials about people getting onto the internet click here.

You've no doubt seen them before during sporting events when they are sometimes run three and four times in a row!

Not only wouldn't they inspire me to get onto the internet if I wasn't already there, but they actually come close to inspiring me to throw the channel changer through the screen!

Bubble Games: Monopoly The .com Edition!

For those of us who remember the boom and bust of Internet stocks around the turn of the century this game of Monopoly, 'The .com Edition' is a familiar blast from the past!

At the time many companies had little in the way of tangible products, even less in the way of profits, and stock prices that rose to stratospheric heights.

The strength was based in large part to the irrational metrics being applied by Wall Street cheerleaders in the guise of analysts that made any rational thinker (or traditional analyst) scratch their heads and ponder how any of it was possible, let alone justifiable!

Low and behold it wasn't as the tech crash painfully showed, making one wonder if the lofty heights of today's stock market based largely on the elixir being provided by the Fed's QE largess is sustainable!

We will certainly learn the answer to that question at some point in time, but for now enjoy the nostalgic game of Monopoly, The .com Edition!

'Relive the first tech bubble with Monopoly: The .com Edition'

'In November 2000, Hasbro released Monopoly: The .com Edition. The board game came just in time for Christmas—and the dot-com bubble bursting. By the end of that year, the Nasdaq had lost more than half its peak value.

Not to jinx the current boom in Silicon Valley, but now seemed like a good time to revisit this special edition of Monopoly. “Are you ready to log on and hyperlink your way to overnight fame and fortune in the exciting world of e-commerce?” asked the instruction booklet (pdf), which detailed all the ways in which The .Com Edition differed from the original. For example…'

Latest Obamacare Obamanation!

What the Obama administration doesn't know about business, the private sector or basically anything else could fill a piece of legislation with more than 2,000 pages!

Wait, it already does! Who else but the Obama administration, apparent hater of business, would ask private companies to provide their products for free and therefore be forced to take huge losses.

It's the private sector forced to pay the price for the incredible incompetence of government!

'Government Takeover: White House Forces Obamacare Insurers To Cover Unpaid Patients At A Loss'

'Of all of the last-minute delays, website bungles, and Presidential whims that have marred the roll-out of Obamacare’s subsidized insurance exchanges, what happened on Thursday, December 12 will stand as one of the most lawless acts yet committed by this administration. The White House—having canceled Americans’ old health plans, and having botched the system for enrolling people in new ones—knows that millions of Americans will enter the new year without health coverage. So instead of actually fixing the problem, the administration is retroactively attempting to force insurers to hand out free health care—at a loss—to those whom the White House has rendered uninsured. If Obamacare wasn’t a government takeover of the health insurance industry, then what is it now?

On Wednesday afternoon, health policy reporters found in their inboxes a friendly e-mail from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, announcing “steps to ensure Americans signing up through the Marketplace have coverage and access to the care they need on January 1.” Basically, the “steps” involve muscling insurers to provide free or discounted care to those who have become uninsured because of the problems with'

Hey Doc, accept Obamacare or else...

If you thought that some doctors and hospitals would not be accepting Obamacare Exchange insurance you are now being proven correct as the sign above clearly shows!

It also likely came as no great surprise to you that the Democrat mantra of 'If you like your doctor and health insurance you can keep it...Period' was nothing but propaganda-laden lies!

Lies told in the very way that Joseph Goebbels had suggested they be told when he said “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

The question now is will the Obama administration, in conjunction with state medical licensing agencies, try to put in rules that will mandate that doctors and hospitals accept health insurance from the Obamacare Exchange, Medicaid and Medicare?

In other words might they say 'If you want to keep your medical license or ability to admit patients you will take whatever insurance that we tell you to take...Period'

Even if it means that by accepting it you will be operating at break-even or at a loss!

If nothing else is should be clear by now that the Obama administration could care less about the ability for business people and businesses to earn a living.

Also crystal clear should be the fact that there are no rules or laws that cannot be changed, molded or manipulated in order to fit into the box that this President is trying to construct.

Therefore if vendors not accepting the inferior health insurance policies poses a problem to Obamacare, why not assume that these vendors will eventually be strong armed or coerced into taking it against their will.

And if doctors instead opt to quit practicing due to the fact that it is not economically feasible one of two things will happen.

Either there will be an even greater doctor shortage leading to long waits and grossly inferior care or once again doctors will in some way be forced by the federal government to continue being a doctor.

As anecdotal evidence of the fact that doctors are opting out of Obamacare take a look at the statistics from California and use that as a guide to the rest of the country.

From Townhall:

An estimated seven out of every 10 physicians in deep-blue California are rebelling against the state's Obamacare health insurance exchange and won't participate, the head of the state's largest medical association said.

“It doesn't surprise me that there's a high rate of nonparticipation,” said Dr. Richard Thorp, president of the California Medical Association.

Thorp has been a primary care doctor for 38 years in a small town 90 miles north of Sacramento. The CMA represents 38,000 of the roughly 104,000 doctors in California.

“We need some recognition that we’re doing a service to the community. But we can’t do it for free. And we can’t do it at a loss. No other business would do that,” he said.

California offers one of the lowest government reimbursement rates in the country -- 30 percent lower than federal Medicare payments. And reimbursement rates for some procedures are even lower.

In other states, Medicare pays doctors $76 for return-office visits. But in California, Medicare’s reimbursement is $24, according to Dr. Theodore M. Mazer, a San Diego ear, nose and throat doctor.

In other states, doctors receive between $500 to $700 to perform a tonsillectomy. In California, they get $160, Mazer added.

Only in September did insurance companies disclose that their rates would be pegged to California’s Medicaid plan, called Medi-Cal. That's driven many doctors to just say no.
