Greece 146 BC Rome 476 AD United States?

When Great Civilizations And Societies Tend To Die!

The decision was announced yesterday by James Comey not to refer a recommendation to DOJ for an indictment of Hillary Clinton. A referral would have been based on her abuse of top secret and secret information in government emails.

Comey's decision was made despite Hillary's many and obvious transgressions and, it was obviously political, seemingly pre-arranged and to many minds egregiously incorrect!

Instead he let her skate with a verbal tongue lashing disregarding the fact that her actions more than likely compromised U.S. national security.

Add to the decision the fact that foreign entities likely also now have the 'Book of Hillary Secrets' gathered from her insecure servers, raw meat to use as blackmail leverage in what she hopes will be her reign as POTUS.

This is the icing on the 'corruption' cake!

The decision by Comey, despite the first ten minutes of his announcement spent detailing all that Hillary Clinton had done and not done, brought to mind great civilizations of the past and the reasons for their demise.

But, unfortunately for the rest of us, people such as Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, liberal lapdogs and the mainstream media simply don't care about the rule of law as long as she (or some other liberal ideologue) assumes power.

The Comey 'Decision' also conjures-up from the memory banks that old saying that has never been more appropriately used than in describing the 7 1/2 years of the Obama administration:

Lord Acton: 'Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely.'

What Destroyed Ancient Greece And Rome!

Some of the items in the list below stand out as being somewhat similar to today in the United States.

And while I am not making a prediction, the current state of the United States is most definitely concerning!

Do you agree? Disagree? Add some of your own but these are some of my thoughts from the list below...

  • Conflict and competition between city-states broke down a sense of community (in the U.S. today it is more conflict between Democrats and Republicans),
  • Eventually the Empire became a dictatorship and the people were less involved in government (King Obama and the minds of the American sheeple molded by the mainstream media in 15-second sound bites and with the rest of time spent on such things as reality TV and an obsession with social media),
  • There was increasing tension and conflict between the ruling aristocracy and the poorer classes (political cries from the Left pitting everyone against their 1%ers),
  • The Empire became too large and the borders were too long to defend (currently in the U.S. the border is not too large to defend but there is no political will to do so),
  • Heavy taxes were paid by the provinces to support the luxury of Rome; the conquered people began to resent this,
  • The people became lazy because they were more interested in living the good life than in waging war against their enemies (or, converting that to our entitlement society, in working).
