Youth chess and hate mixing well in the UAE!


The hate for Israel and for Jews is once again clearly on display, this time in the staid world of an international youth chess tournament being held in the UAE!

There is no Israeli flag being flown along with the flags of the other participating nations and the national identity of the Israeli competitors is hidden behind the acronym FIDE!

It's somewhat reminiscent of the 2009 incident when Israeli tennis player Shahar Peer was denied entry by the UAE to play in a Dubai tournament, but it is unfortunately not surprising at all!


'Four years ago, I posted here about a controversy over the Turks not playing the Israeli national anthem for Marsel Efroimski, an Israeli girl who won the Girls' Under-14 World Chess Championship at the World Youth Chess Championships, which were played in Turkey that year.

Once again this year, the World Youth Chess Championships are being held in a Muslim nation: the United Arab Emirates, and predictably, once again the Muslim hosts are demonstrating their anti-Semitism.
