The Obama Iran Deal: Is it naiveté? Is it political expediency? Is it kicking the can down the road? Is it arrogance to think that his administration can turn a rogue nation?
Of course it's all of those things with the addition of the fact that on some level one might think that Barack Obama is okay with a nuclear Iran and with hanging Israel out there on its' own to deal with the problem themselves!
This line alone from his speech last night is enough to tell you that the President is either the most arrogant, ignorant or naive President that we have had in the White House since Jimmy Carter!
'...For the first time in nearly a decade, we have halted the progress of the Iranian nuclear program...'
Read these words from the President (from Politico) and decide for yourself how much faith and credence anyone, particularly Israel, should put in them.
'President Barack Obama on Saturday welcomed the agreement between world powers and Iran as "an important first step toward a comprehensive solution" on Iran's nuclear program.
"For the first time in nearly a decade, we have halted the progress of the Iranian nuclear program," Obama said in remarks delivered in the State Dining Room of the White House. The agreement, he added, has "cut off Iran's most likely paths to a bomb."
The agreement, reached early Sunday in Geneva, begins with an initial six-month stage that includes limits on Iran's nuclear program and begins to address concerns about Iran's enrichment capabilities, existing stockpiles, centrifuges and ability to produce weapons-grade plutonium with the Arak reactor.
This first step allows for "time and space" for more negotiations, Obama added, warning that new sanctions imposed by Congress in the coming weeks could "derail this promising first step."'
And as is to be expected the mainstream media is coming along for the ride calling this a foreign policy victory? From USA Today:
'...With the historic announcement out of Geneva on Saturday that Iran has agreed to curb its nuclear program in exchange for an easing of sanctions, President Obama scored one of the most unlikely — and potentially most meaningful — foreign policy victories of his time in office...'
But more importantly out of Israel come these words of understanding as to what this deal actual is and what it will mean! From Algemeiner:
'Describing it as “the biggest diplomatic victory Iran has known in recent years,” Israel’s Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said that “the State of Israel will have to think things over.”
“This brings us to a new reality in the whole Middle East,” he told Israel Radio.
“We awoke this morning to a new reality. A reality in which a bad deal was signed with Iran. A very bad deal,” said Israel’s Economy Minister Naftali Bennett. He painted a bleak picture of what may come to pass as a result of the arrangement. “If a nuclear suitcase blows up five years from now in New York or Madrid, it will be because of the deal that was signed this morning,” he said.
“It is important that the world knows: Israel will not be committed to a deal that endangers its very existence,” Bennett added.'
God help us all!
