Barack Obama rhetoric is worthless and, if our enemies and allies ever had any doubt about that fact, after he moved his 'red line' in Syria they are now 100% certain that it is the unfortunate truth!
Barack Obama painted the United States into a corner by establishing a 'red line' in Syria over the use of chemical weapons there that has effectively locked the country into a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario.
On the one hand we have the al-Qaeda infested rebels and on the other we have a maniacal despot currently in power. These are two groups that should be allowed to destroy each other.
That said, if Barack Obama's rhetoric is going to ever be taken seriously he needs to take action in whatever way he chooses to do it.
That because Iran, North Korea, Russia, China and all other countries around the world are intently watching to see if this mans words mean anything.
From his statement at a press conference today I think that all of our worst fears have been realized!
On the question of his 'red line' and the use of chemical weapons, this is what our Commander-in-Chief had to say:
He would not say that the "red line" he had previously identified had been crossed.
"What we now have is evidence that chemical weapons have been used inside of Syria, but we don't know how they were used, when they were used, who used them. We don't have a chain of custody that establishes what exactly happened," Obama said at the White House in a press conference marking the first 100 days of his second term. "When I am making decisions about America's national security and the potential for taking additional action in response to chemical weapon use, I've got to make sure I've got the facts." (Politico)
