Seattle is but one of the U.S. cities on high alert for OWS and May Day!

One of President Obama's favorite movements, OWS, has plans to strike at the heart of American cities on May Day!

The Presidents other favorite present-day radical movement is of course the Middle East "Arab Spring" but for today the focus will remain on May Day marches and protests around the United States.

Tuesdays activities have been called a holiday for the 99% by May Day organizers and an attempt to face-off against whoever it is that they consider the "man" or 1% of the citizenry to actually be.

The leaders call for the nebulous 99% of downtrodden Americans and non-Americans alike to "celebrate" the day by skipping work, ditching school and  avoiding shopping.

If we use the actions of prior OWS movements in cities across the nation as a guide for May Day, expect random acts of violence, vandalism, civil disobedience and a general disruption of life for others, most of whom are part of the 99% OWS claims to represent!

There will likely also be confrontations with the police whose actions in the course of doing their jobs will be filmed in snippets that can be taken out of context and manipulated solely for the purposes of OWS.

Yes, if the history of this movement so beloved by the likes of President Obama and Nancy Pelosi can be used as any guide then this May Day "holiday" has the potential to get ugly.

Just the way that former '60's radicals and Community Organizers like it!

The Seattle Mayor's Office and Puget Sound anarchists speak out!

Seattle Mayor's Office

Statement on May 1 Demonstrations

SEATTLE –On Tuesday, May 1, several organizations will be holding public demonstrations in Seattle. This will include an annual May Day March for Immigrant and Workers Rights from Judkins Park to downtown Seattle, an Occupy Seattle-sponsored General Strike, and rallies scheduled throughout the day at Westlake Park. The Seattle Department of Transportation advises that delays should be expected downtown during the Tuesday afternoon commute.

We also have evidence that other people may be coming to Seattle on Tuesday with the intention of using the public demonstrations as an opportunity to commit violence, damage property and disrupt peaceful free speech activity. There has been a significant increase in graffiti and posters alluding to violence around the May 1 events. Websites have described trainings in how to conceal weapons beneath signs and banners, and how to target police officers on horses. At a protest at the Port of Seattle in December 2011, several people used peaceful demonstrators as a shield to throw projectiles and incendiary devices at police officers.

Early Thursday morning an incendiary device was thrown at a bank in Columbia City. This was similar to an attack on a bank that took place in Portland late Wednesday night.

Seattle Police command staff and Mayor’s Office staff have been working with protest organizers, property owners, and other stakeholders to facilitate peaceful, constitutional demonstrations. Officers will respond appropriately to criminal acts and threats or harm directed against participants, non-participants, and property. (Source)

Puget Sound Anarchists

“…As for their concerns with people learning to defend themselves, this obviously would be a concern to a gang of crack-smoking, steroid-taking, wife-beating, murderous sociopaths who cannot stand to have their authority challenged for even a moment. The thought of thousands of people rising up against their arbitrary and disintegrating authority is enough to make them invent stories of secret cabals training in the dark. Oddly enough, this is something the SPD does routinely. All of their training and planning is done in secret, hidden from the public. During the meeting, Assistant Chief of Police Mike Sanford was clearly externalizing his own guilt and shame for overseeing a conspiratorial and corrupt organization that hides in the dark like a band of diseased pigs, constantly attempting to bury their own filth and outrun their legacy of drugs, lies, and murder…” (Source)

Caption Contest: What is going through the minds of Barack Obama and Bill Clinton in this picture?

In light of the rumor that Bill Clinton was scared off from revealing what he knew about Barack Obama's eligibility to be President of the United States...

This is an excerpt from an article at WND that indicates it was fear that caused former President Clinton to not reveal what he is reported to have known about then Senator Obama's eligibility to be President;

“He, I believe, was frothing at the mouth to tell the truth about Obama,” she said.

In the meantime, she recalled, the former president would make ironic references in public in which he “teetered” on revealing he position.

“He would go on camera,” Viviano said, “and jokingly make comments about, you know, ‘Is Obama qualified to be president? Well, if he’s 35 and a wink, wink, United States citizen, I guess he’s qualified.’”

She claimed, however, that Bill Clinton’s intention to unequivocally state to the public that Obama was ineligible was stopped in its tracks by the murder of a close friend of the Clintons, Arkansas Democratic Party Chairman Bill Gwatney, just two weeks before the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

Given this, what do you think is going through each of these mens minds in this picture?

Talking Heads say invest, invest, invest but closer inspection may say no, no, no!

For the Talking Heads on CNBC and some of the other business news sources all things point to the same thing...buy stocks!

Earnings season is in full swing and it appears that the majority of firms that report are in someway beating the average estimates of the analysts who follow them.

To me that would indicate one of two things. Either the analysts, like economists, are really not very good at doing their jobs or else they don't really do the job at all and simply take the guidance the company provides and use that to forecast results.

Because of this phenomenon I don't generally put that much faith in the excitement generated by hosts and guests who for the most part have an "axe to grind" because the majority benefit from the stock market going higher.

It also seems that for those on business programming most reported economic data can also be spun in a positive way and that if there are two conflicting reports, the one showing an improving economy will be highlighted and promoted.

Now I don't want to be negative and it's possible that I am merely a pessimist (although I will defend myself by insisting on the term realist), but when I look and listen to the news that surrounds both micro and macro economic issues to me it appears there is trouble on the horizon.

Whether it's GDP growth, real estate activity and prices, jobs creation, foreclosures and bankruptcies, unemployment and underemployment, debt as a percentage of GDP, country ratings downgrades, inflation including food and energy, quantitative easing, government imposed austerity measures and political turmoil and legislative uncertainty, for me they just don't paint a very rosy picture.

But then when you look at a metric like the S & P 500 it's at levels not seen since the financial crisis hit.

Is it me or doesn't this all seem like there is a giant disconnect somewhere?

Some points of interest!

Given the amount of financial stimulation that the Fed has pumped into the economy with limited apparent impact along with the recently stated willingness to do even more raises a fairly large red flag. While such action may keep interest rates artificially low, they have been at these low levels for some time with little economic improvement to show for it given the magnitude of the cash infusion. This is much like has been the case for decades in Japan. While these low rates may force savers to abandon fixed income to buy equities in search of a better return, to me this inflation of the stock market is artificial (although as the saying goes it is difficult to fight the tape).

Savers including retirees, soon-to-be retirees and those responsible for these people in the form of pension funds and other plans are well behind the eight ball due to these low rates that have them under-performing to a significant degree the implied annual return that they have been projected to achieve. The ramifications from having to make up for this under-performance at some point in the future could be daunting!

Consider also the impact to the federal government when interest rates go up as they will at some point. The cost to finance this massively expanded debt load will then rise to a point where an unsustainable percentage of federal government expenditures will need to go to just this expense.

We live in uncertain and tumultuous times my friends and I leave you with these charts of 10-year sovereign bond yields from some of the more fragile EU countries that seems to indicate that despite all of the moves made by a variety of entities, they are still in quite a bit of trouble!

That means the rest of the EU may be in trouble and you can then extrapolate that out to the rest of the world! Take a look at the yield levels today and those from a year ago and draw your own conclusions (click charts to make bigger):

U.S. riots (Video) and Greek suicides!

Implementation of the austerity measures in conjunction with the demise of the Greece economy has led to an uptick in that country's suicide rate!

Also a video that predicts a collapse in the U.S. dollar will lead to massive social unrest here! Watch and give your opinion on the potential for what is predicted to come to fruition!

Greece austerity, economic crisis and suicides!

ATHENS: On Monday, a 38-year-old geology lecturer hanged himself from a lamp post in Athens and on the same day a 35-year-old priest jumped to his death off his balcony in northern Greece. On Wednesday, a 23-year-old student shot himself in the head.

In a country that has had one of the lowest suicide rates in the world, a surge in the number of suicides in the wake of an economic crisis has shocked and gripped the Mediterranean nation and its media before a May 6 election.

The especially grisly death of pharmacist Dimitris Christoulas, who shot himself in the head on a central Athens square because of poverty brought on by the crisis that has put millions out of work, was by far the most dramatic.

Before shooting himself during morning rush hour on April 4 on Syntagma Square across from the Greek parliament building, the 77-year-old pensioner took a moment to jot down a note.

“I see no other solution than this dignified end to my life so I don’t find myself fishing through garbage cans for sustenance,” wrote Christoulas, who has since become a national symbol of the austerity-induced pain that is squeezing millions. (Source)

Will a U.S. dollar collapse set-off a series of events that leads to rioting in the streets and massive social unrest across America?

What's your opinion of the message in this video. Will this or something close actually occur or is this just the product of the fertile imagination of a doomsday theorist?

Video - An activist on Bill O'Reilly tries to defend the Left's "Drop the I-Word" campaign where I = illegal!

A video of activist Monica Novoa on Bill O'Reilly offering an inept and specious argument that tries to defend the Left's "Drop the I-Word" campaign (I = illegal)!

Shakespeare "Romeo and Juliet": "What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet."

Call illegal immigration by any name that you want!

But, at the end of the day, when someone crosses over the sovereign border of the United States and enters into this country without the proper documentation and without going through the immigration process, they are in this country illegally! Why is that such a difficult concept for some to understand?

In actuality it is very simple to understand, but is just one more attempt by the Left to turn the 2012 presidential election into a referendum that revolves around an us versus them mentality and an attempt to invoke class warfare.

It's very similar to the argument by the Left against requiring voter ID to try and paint the Republican Party as the party of discrimination and racists.

"Grateful" not illegal immigrants to the United States!

So while there is no way around the fact that those in the country without having gone through the proper legal channels are by definition here illegally, if it would please the Left we can use some other word to describe their status here.

If someone from Canada comes in "_______" over the northern border, from Mexico "_______" across our southern border, from China  "_______" through Kennedy Airport or from anywhere else, let's drop the term here illegally and instead say that they are coming in "gratefully".

And why wouldn't they be grateful coming into the greatest country in the world? But being "grateful" in no way mitigates the fact that there is no country in the world that allows illegal crossing of their borders and neither should we.

Let's use Mexico as an example of a governments attitude towards "grateful" immigration.

While a good many of the "grateful" immigrants in the United States are from Mexico, one would then assume that country would be as tolerant of border crossings from Central America as they expect America to be.

But of course that's not the case. In fact, this is how Mexico treats those who don't have the proper documentation:

Illegal entry into the country is equivalent to a felony punishable by two years’ imprisonment. Document fraud is subject to fine and imprisonment; so is alien marriage fraud. Evading deportation is a serious crime; illegal re-entry after deportation is punishable by ten years’ imprisonment. Foreigners may be kicked out of the country without due process and the endless bites at the litigation apple that illegal aliens are afforded in our country (see, for example, President Obama’s illegal alien aunt — a fugitive from deportation for eight years who is awaiting a second decision on her previously rejected asylum claim).

– Law enforcement officials at all levels — by national mandate — must cooperate to enforce immigration laws, including illegal alien arrests and deportations. The Mexican military is also required to assist in immigration enforcement operations. Native-born Mexicans are empowered to make citizens’ arrests of illegal aliens and turn them in to authorities.

– Ready to show your papers? Mexico’s National Catalog of Foreigners tracks all outside tourists and foreign nationals. A National Population Registry tracks and verifies the identity of every member of the population, who must carry a citizens’ identity card. Visitors who do not possess proper documents and identification are subject to arrest as illegal aliens. (Source)

Given the state of the economy, lack of jobs, national security issues, etc. the Left should try and come up with issues slightly more relevant than "Drop the I-Word" to try and divide the nation for the benefit of the Obama campaign.

Or maybe just stop trying to divide the nation!

But certainly keep using inept spokespeople like the woman in this video, Monica Novoa!

Guest Post: American prosperity? Let's learn from American history!

American history: From economic hell as subjects of a monarchy to prosperity and economic freedom to now life under the control of a would-be socialist "king" and his Progressive minions!

Excerpt: "...Finding themselves in a hard place Americans found a way to prosper and grow like a young plant reaching for the sun.  Freed from the rigid restraints of the home country and then guaranteed freedom by the constitution and the limited government it provided America surged to the front ranks of nations..."

Guest Post: If I Wanted to Make America Prosperous Again

First, I would ask myself how did our ancestors build America from an agricultural colony on the edge of civilization into the number one manufacturing and commercial nation the world had ever known.

Why reinvent the wheel if round ones still roll?

The early American colonies of the British were founded based upon the economic ideas of Mercantilism.  Governmental regulation of industries, trade, and commerce characterized Mercantilism as every aspect of the economy was utilized for national policy. This was especially true with foreign trade, which was determined more by national aims rather than individual or local interests.

The definition of wealth began to change in the sixteenth century.  During the Middle Ages, wealth was defined by the amount of productive land a nation possessed.  As transportation, especially by sea, improved so did the ability to conduct foreign trade bringing with it an increase in the amount of cash generated by that trade.  The definition of wealth came to be the amount of cash a nation possessed.  Therefore every nation sought to have a favorable balance of trade.  They also sought to develop monopolistic type environments wherein they provided their own raw materials thus avoiding imports which meant money flowing out and fostering the export of finished goods raising the level of money flowing in.  Defining wealth as the accumulation of cash, the nations of Europe desired to conduct foreign trade on a larger scale, and they began looking for foreign sources of gold, silver, and raw materials.

This brings us to the British effort to develop North America as a source of wealth.

The Chesapeake colonies of Virginia and Maryland were the first successful British colonies in what was to become the United States of America.  Though the initial colonists came looking for gold they soon learned that prosperity came not from a shovel but instead from a plow.  It was tobacco that primed the pump and lifted the colonies from a burden to a benefit for the mother country.  After years of mounting expenses for the British and years of starvation for the colonists the cultivation of tobacco brought prosperity.  Virginia’s production of tobacco grew from 200,000 pounds in 1624 to 3,000,000 pounds in 1638 overtaking the West Indies as the number one supplier of tobacco for all of Europe thus boosting Britain’s balance of trade.

The cultivation of tobacco fostered a plantation system based upon indentured and slave labor.  A gentrified class of great planters sought to replicate the social structure of Britain with a small number of very rich ruling a large number of small land holders who prospered to a certain extent but never enough to challenge the status quo.  The wretched poor of Britain who had come to the Chesapeake colonies to find a better life did find more opportunity and the ability to advance from the landless poor to the ranks of yeoman farmer.  However, there was little opportunity to enter the ranks for the gentry which became a type of American nobility.

New England, because of the soil, the climate, and the fact that there was no major cash crop that grew well in the area, did not lend itself to large plantations.  Most farmers were operating at a subsistence level.  If they did generate a surplus it was in crops that were not easily transported across the ocean, and they were also crops that could be grown in England and were not needed as imports.

This climatic and environmental adversity did not condemn New England to being a poor relation to the Chesapeake nobility.  Instead the New English diversified, innovated, and used individual enterprise to not only match but to surpass Chesapeake and every other colony in the British Empire.  Those who settled New England were Puritans who sought to purify the Anglican religion of ceremony and return it to what they saw as the simplicity of early Christianity.  They did not believe that good works brought salvation but they did believe that salvation brought good works.  Therefore they sought to occupy their time with productive activity to glorify God through their labors.  This was a manifestation of what the sociologist Max Weber later called , “The Protestant work ethic.”  Whatever you choose to call it, it was this drive to succeed no matter what the adversity that led the New English to look beyond the soil, beyond the climate and to the opportunity.

First they exploited the fisheries of the Northeast.  In 1641 the New English caught 600,000 pounds of fish much of which was exported to Britain.  By 1645 they were catching more than 6,000,000 pounds per year employing more than a thousand men on 440 ships.  They came to dominate the fish trade shipping not only to Britain and its empire but also to Spain, Portugal, the Azores, Madeira, and the Canary Islands

By the end of the 1600s the merchants of the New English coast began to circle the globe trading the fish, surplus crops, and lumber of their area to all parts of the British Empire.  They became such shrewd traders that soon American ships were carrying trade from one colony to another even when the cargo didn’t originate in New England.  This secondary carrying trade generated a growing profit that in turn rebounded in a number of ways.  The increased profits brought home financed increased industry and growth at home, and it also spawned a shipbuilding industry which exploited the vast resources of the northern forests.

Between 1674 and 1714 the New English built more than 1200 ships, totaling more than 75,000 tons.  By 1700 there were fifteen shipyards in Boston which produced more ships than all the rest of the British colonies combined.  Only London had more shipyards.  This was a significant engine of economic growth.  To build one 150 ton merchant ship required as many as 200 workers, mostly skilled craftsmen.  The shipyards also supported the growth of numerous enterprises to supply their needs such as saw mills, smithies, barrel makers, sail makers, iron foundries, and rope makers. In addition, the farmers of New England benefited by feeding the craftsmen, supplying the ships, and providing the timber.

By 1700 Boston was the third city of the Empire behind only London and Bristol and the New English shippers were earning freight charges for carrying produce and material that was neither produced, shipped to, or shipped from their home colony.  The enrichment of the area spread prosperity far beyond the sphere of shippers, sailors, and their sundry suppliers.  According to Boston’s shipping register for 1697-1714 over 25% of the adult males in Boston owned shares in at least one ship.
All of these linkages produced an economy filled with diversification and development as opposed to the stratified monoculture of the Chesapeake colonies.

These trends continued as time went on leading to the industrial North eventually overwhelming the agricultural South.  The expansion and growth of America was based upon a foundation of hard work and innovation born of adversity.  Finding themselves in a hard place Americans found a way to prosper and grow like a young plant reaching for the sun.  Freed from the rigid restraints of the home country and then guaranteed freedom by the constitution and the limited government it provided America surged to the front ranks of nations.

Today, America labors under self-imposed adversity.  We are in the grip of an oppressive Progressive Movement that after 100 years of incremental advance is poised to transform America from what she has always been into what they want her to be.  America has traditionally been a constitutionally limited Republic operating on democratic principles providing individual liberty and economic opportunity.  The Progressives envision America as a centrally-planned highly regimented social democracy where the wealth is spread around from each according to their abilities to each according to their needs.

If I wanted to make America prosperous again I would take off the self-imposed shackles of a central government on steroids, stop imposing new regulations, and reduce taxes everywhere on everyone.  Then I would stand back and watch our economy takes off like a rocket and we take our place beside our ancestors as free people with economic liberty and a will to succeed.

When, where and if Americans are saving for a rainy day!

A list of foreign countries where those Americans lucky enough to still have money can consider going if offshore banking is their investment vehicle of choice under the current leadership in Washington!

Next TPC will provide the results from a survey conducted by The National Foundation for Credit Counseling that looks at whether Americans are saving, mortgage decisions, credit cards and much more!

Offshore Banking

Thanks to onerous U.S. banking regulations and uncertainty surrounding future U.S. federal government legislation under the Obama administration, the bank of choice for many Americans may be the one that's in some other country!

The problem there, however, is that because of the burden of dealing with the U.S. government, many foreign banks have chosen not to deal with U.S. customers.

Perhaps the solution is for the Obama administration to simplify and clarify so that U.S. citizens can feel more comfortable in dealing with U.S. institutions without having to consider looking to bank offshore!

Operating under the assumption that simplification and clarification won't occur and may in fact get worse, and that you are one of the lucky Americans to still have enough money that makes where you bank an important decision, here is a list of some countries that banking offshore is a possibility (this does not constitute financial advice but is merely financial information).

Some banking countries of choice!

1) Andorra. This tiny low-tax nation nestled high in the mountains between France and Spain has long been a favorite of well-heeled Europeans. Today, despite all the turmoil in the rest of Europe, Andorra has one of the most well-capitalized banking systems on the continent.

2) St. Vincent and the Grenadines. This country is more famous for being the filming location for “Pirates of the Caribbean” rather than as an international banking center. The banking sector is still quite small, and as a result, banks are still willing to do the extra paperwork required to deal with US customers in order to boost their balance sheets.

3) Mongolia. Perhaps one of my favorite places in the world to bank, you can get paid upwards of 13% interest in Mongolia, easily the fastest growing economy in the world.

4) Belize. Even though it’s just a short flight from a number of cities in the US, several banks in Belize will open accounts for US citizens through the mail without you having to leave town.

5) Hong Kong. One of the original international banking centers, Hong Kong remains one of the most efficient places in the world to bank. It’s cheap, it’s fast, and you have unfettered access to opportunities in mainland China. Many of the big name banks, including HSBC, will still open accounts for US citizens.

6) The Bahamas. With the local economy already so closely tied to the United States, most banks in the Bahamas have made the decision to stay in bed with Uncle Sam rather than rock the boat.

7) Chile. Among the most well-capitalized banks in Latin America, Chile’s banking system marches to the beat of its own drum. It’s very difficult (though possible) to open an account without obtaining residency first, but fortunately it’s a straightforward process to obtain residency in this thriving country.

8.) Turks and Caicos. Like the Bahamas, T&C’s economy is heavily dependent on the United States for trade, tourism, and its financial sector (which constitutes 30% of all economic activity). While a few private banks have closed their doors, some larger multinationals (like Scotiabank) still readily accept US customers. (Source)

Great Video: The Preezy of the United Steezy is cool all right, but do you want four more years of him?

Because despite the fact that Obama's "cool," so are many other Americans that I wouldn't want as president either!

For example here's a list of some other "popular" celebrities in the United States and there isn't a presidential prospect in the bunch!

  1. Kim Kardashian
  2. Lindsay Lohan
  3. Tim Tebow
  4. "Octomom"
  5. Stephen Colbert
  6. "Snooki"

In the 2012 election let's vote to give President Obama the opportunity to take his "cool" elsewhere!

Driving off the road courtesy of Obama and his "Fantasy Hour" Radio Show!

Chevy Volt for dramatization purposes only!
George Costanza's advice for the President: “Barack, just remember: It’s not a lie if you believe it.”
I was driving to work the other day just listening to the radio when outrageous comments made by Obama campaign spokesmen nearly had me veering off of the road!

Imagine the sheer pomposity and arrogance of the Obama campaign that tries to portray a successful businessman, Mitt Romney, as the enemy of the people.

Then, Obama campaign leaders Axelrod and Messina tried to portray Barack Obama as the conscientious and tireless worker whose attention is squarely focused on improving life for all Americans at the 99% threshold and below.

This, when the reality is that this administration has done its level best to destroy the US economy for every citizen from top to bottom in the way that any equal opportunity socialist would do.

The topper, and the point where I ran into steering problems, was when Axelrod said that Mitt Romney has had the campaign arena all to himself, due to the fact that President Obama has been focused on his day job of running the country and hasn't had the time to campaign. That his campaign won't actually kick-off until early May!

This statement highlights the belief of Democrat Party leadership that the American people are mere lemmings who will take whatever is told to them as the gospel.

The basic truth is that there is NO President in history who has spent less time leading, more time recreating and certainly more time campaigning and fundraising than Barack Obama!

Obama fantasy courtesy of the Obama campaign!

"Welcome to the general election," Obama campaign manager Jim Messina said at the start of a conference call with reporters Wednesday evening to announce the details of the rallies. "The Republicans have settled on their candidate -- or should I say, settled for their candidate," he added, referring to Mitt Romney, whose sweep of five contests earlier this week earned him the title of "presumptive nominee."
Messina described the president's campaign effort as "a ramp-up, not a zero-to-60 moment."
"Obviously the president has a busy day job, and we'll continue to layer in campaign events where we think it's appropriate," Messina said. "This is obviously the start of that process." (Source)

I can't believe that Messina and Axelrod actually believe the crap that they spout, but I truly believe that they believe that the American people will. Let's prove them wrong!

Obama campaign reality from the MSM!

Remember this article at TPC on November 29, 2011?

From an unlikely source, none other than ABC White House correspondent Jake Tapper, came the following exchange along with a statement from a professor at the U.S. Naval Academy:
"…President Obama seems to travel to battleground states more so than any other president before him. Am I'm wondering if you could respond to this. It looks like the president is campaigning on the taxpayer dime more than any other president has done," Tapper said at today's White House briefing.

"I reject the premise of that," Carney responded. Carney said since Obama "expanded the political map" by winning some red states, so many more states are considered "purple" or swing-states now. Carney also said that there is "logistical" decision making when the White House plans to travel…” (Source)
“…Between Jan. 1 and Nov. 17 of his third year in office, Bill Clinton held 40 events over 24 days in the battlegrounds of his time, according to data compiled by Brendan Doherty, a U.S. Naval Academy assistant professor who is widely viewed among political scientists as an expert on presidential travel. Over that same stretch, George W. Bush held 49 events in 34 days, drawing complaints from Democrats.
Mr. Obama has surpassed his predecessors in both categories; as of Nov. 17, he attended 54 events in 11 battleground states over 42 days. "Obama has certainly ramped up the volume," said Mr. Doherty, author of a forthcoming book called "The Rise of the President's Permanent Campaign…"
The moral? Don't take everything the Obama campaign tells you as the gospel because most likely it isn't!

Picture of the Day: Timing is everything!

We know the phrase "does a bear s**t in the woods"! How about "can a bear be stopped in mid-air"?

The answer from this picture taken at the University of Colorado at Boulder seems to be that yes, it can, although an even better trick might be the Boulder police stopping some of the crime  that's been running rampant in the city.
