A presidential debate question you will never hear: Mr. President, there are three men in a boat...

Imagine if debate questions cut to the chase and left no wiggle room for a candidate to hem, haw and answer something that wasn't asked?

This is one of those questions:

Moderator: Mr. President the following is of course a purely hypothetical question but one that requires only a two-word answer so please limit yourself to that.

You are sailing off of the coast of the Hyannis Port in the vicinity of where the wind turbines might have been located had the Kennedy's allowed it.

With you in the boat are Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel and Mahmoud Abbas, the President of the Palestinian National Authority.

The boat springs a leak and is about to sink when it's discovered that there are only two life jackets.

You are wearing one, sir, and holding the other understanding that the decision you are about to make will save one man and assure that the other will drown.

Mr. President, knowing the gravity of the decision that you are about to make not only in life and death terms but in the US and global geopolitical balance as well, which man will you give the life jacket to?

Barack Obama: (fill in the blank)?

  1. This is a no-brainer. Obama would give the life jacket to Abbas and tell Netanyahu how good a friend he is.
