|You are no Jack Kennedy!|
And if in fact this were to occur, it will be because Barack Obama is perceived to be (and in reality actually is) a weak and indecisive leader happy to have the United Nations fight the battles that concern American security instead of the America fighting the battles herself.
This potential for new crisis in Cuba reminds me of an interchange that took place during a vice presidential debate in 1988 when Senator Lloyd Bentsen uttered this now-famous comeback to GOP V.P. candidate Dan Quayle:
"Senator, I served with Jack Kennedy. I knew Jack Kennedy. Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. Senator, you are no Jack Kennedy."
To clarify, when it comes to protecting the country, Barack Obama isn't even on par with Jackie Kennedy.
Nowhere is this fact more clearly exemplified than by the following interchange that had Barack Obama had, caught on an open microphone, when he was heard whispering the following into the ear of the Russian President Dmitri Medvedev at the Nuclear Security Summit in Seoul back March 2012.
He told Medvedev to let incoming President Vladimir Putin know to sit tight until after the U.S. election takes place in November when he, Barack Obama, would have carte blanche as a lame duck to destroy American national security by making whatever concessions the Russians wanted.
President Obama: On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved but it’s important for him to give me space.
President Medvedev: Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you…
President Obama: (reaching over and putting his hand on Mr. Medvedev’s knee): This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.
President Medvedev: I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir.
For a strong and ruthless leader like Putin this is akin to a shark smelling blood in the water.
Russia and Cuba
Now, four months later, we see some of the potential results derived from having Barack Obama in the White House.
New speculation that Russia will be making military moves outside of its own borders to potentially include a naval base in Cuba!
In my mind I can hear the Obama rhetoric directed at Russia and of course the U.N. Security Council that Barack Obama has made the de-facto proxy for U.S. action.
More useless and toothless speechifying that at best falls on deaf ears when directed at Middle East despots so therefore one can only imagine the laughter out of ex-KGB Putin when at some point it will be directed at him. Here is the story of Russian plans in our region:
“Russia is talking to Cuba, Vietnam and the Seychelles about housing Russian navy ships, its naval chief has said.
Vice-admiral Viktor Chirkov told the RIA Novosti state news agency Russia was in talks with the three countries about setting up maintenance and supply facilities but would not give further details…
…Chirkov's statement marked a sharp about-face for Russia, which closed a Soviet-era naval base at Vietnam's Cam Ranh Bay and a spy base in Lourdes in Cuba in the early 2000s during President Vladimir Putin's first term.
Along with financial reasons, that move was part of Putin's bid to improve ties with the US. But relations with Washington deteriorated and Putin, who was re-elected to a third term in March, has grown increasingly eager to challenge Washington. During his election campaign, he accused the US of encouraging protest against his 12-year rule in order to weaken Russia and pledged to strengthen the nation's military might…” (Source)
This is yet one more example that typifies why the United States needs change in November.
Barack Obama has a certain agenda concerning the role of government in American society that he will stop at nothing to try and implement.
He is a somewhat charismatic figure who also knows how to push the buttons of one segment of our society to the detriment of our society as a whole.
He is a tireless campaigner and fund raiser who has the ruthless Chicago political machine running the show.
He also likes to have a good time recreating on the golf course and basketball court.
Unfortunately for the U.S., all of these things mean absolutely nothing to our enemies who view this President as a laughingstock not ready for primetime!
If you don't believe me keep an eye on Cuba less than 100 miles from the U.S.
