For some students the three years of law school provides a respite from the pain of pounding the pavement looking for work after earning an undergraduate degree. And in this economy, particularly depending on the undergraduate major earned, pain is the operative word!

For others law school is the culmination of a lifelong dream to become an esteemed member of the Bar in order to do whatever it is that some lawyers do.

While some disciplines and specialties provide a valuable service for clients as in criminal and real estate law, from my experience others seem expert in running up bills by turning what otherwise could be amicably resolved disputes into long drawn out battles.

Battles where the attorney's for both sides are often the only winners.
