Survey says vast majority of Americans want voter ID so why all the ruckus? (Rasmussen)

In actuality there is a ruckus but it is coming mainly from Democrat Party leadership in its quest to foment class warfare to be used as a political tool!

Is there something wrong with having to prove that you are who you say you are to participate in the voting process? I don't think so and neither do the vast majority of Americans!

To hear Democrat talking heads tell it, however, the concept of requiring voter ID is discriminatory, racist and a tool of the Republican Party designed to specifically target traditional Democrat voters in an attempt to keep them away from the polls.

In actuality voter ID, if implemented, would be the legal way to limit voting to those entitled to participate.

Compare that to the intimidating and physical way that the New Black Panther Party attempted to manipulate voting outside a Philadelphia polling place in the last presidential election in an attempt to further the election prospects of Barack Obama. They were of course exonerated of any wrong doing.

Before getting to the survey results, why do you suppose that there is such a backlash from certain quarters about requiring ID to vote when presenting ID is standard operating procedures for activities much less important than the privilege of voting in the United States.

To oppose something that would insure the integrity of the process makes no sense unless there are ulterior motives for doing so. And the only two possible ulterior motives that I can think of is that those who oppose it might actually want ineligible voters to vote or they are attempting to foment class warfare as a campaign tool.

Common places where showing identification is required!

The following list includes places where showing picture ID can be mandatory:

  • Grocery stores ( if you are using Credit Card )
  • Gas stations (when you are buying anything using Credit card)
  • Liquor store.( Even if you do not buy and accompany with others)
  • Dance Clubs and Bars
  • Mail pick up from FedEx, UPS or any others
  • Public Library (for getting library Card )
  • Casino (even if you do not play)
  • Banks ( if you want to withdraw money or check balance)
  • Airport
  • Any stores where you buy using Credit Card.
  • Fast Food places (if you use credit card)
  • Restaurants (if you use credit card)
  • Any corporate offices ( if you are visiting anyone, for Visitor ID)
  • Coffee shops ( if you use credit card)
  • Renting anything for outdoor Jet Skis, Boats, Canoe, etc
  • Car Rentals ( You need Driver’s license for sure)
  • Any theme parks like Disney, etc for rentals
  • Any outdoor activity like Sky diving, Bunge Jumping, etc

So in essence there is a political piece to this whole argument over requiring voter ID, but the issue is on the Democrats and not the Republicans!

Rasmussen Survey on requiring voter ID!

"The Obama administration has blocked Texas’ new law requiring voters to show photo identification at the polls, saying it would suppress Hispanic voter turnout, and the United Nations is now investigating the fairness of such laws in Texas and other states. But voters in this country still overwhelmingly support voter ID laws and don’t think they discriminate.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 72% of Likely U.S. Voters believe voters should be required to show photo identification such as a driver’s license before being allowed to vote. Only 22% are opposed to the photo ID requirement." (Source)
