Does this quote regarding the Muslim Brotherhood make any sense to you?

It makes you wonder if the speaker got his information by conferring first with U.S. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper!

Remember back to early 2011 when in testimony before Congress U.S. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said that the Muslim Brotherhood is a mostly secular, and not terrorist, organization.

Now on Monday Thomas Friedman, a Pulitzer Prize winning columnist at the New York Times, had this to say at a lecture at the American University in Cairo (AUC).

"... For decades, Egyptians were missing the Arab nationalist, and most importantly, an authentic political alternative during Mubarak's rule, now they finally found it represented in the 83-year-old Islamist group of the Muslim Brotherhood," Friedman said.

The Muslim Brotherhood is legitimate, authentic, progressive alternative. Only faced by the four-month old liberals, they had to win," he added ..." (Full article here)

Now I don't possess a Pulitzer Prize and I am sure never will, but does that sentence make any sense to you?

My suggestion would be that if Thomas Friedman indeed had been schooled on the topic of the Muslim Brotherhood by James Clapper, perhaps he should consider the source first!
