New York University Law School study looks at three terrorism prosecutions and makes the assertion that the Muslim men had been entrapped and the claim that the homegrown terrorism threat in America has been "manufactured!
The study is titled "Center for Human Rights and Global Justice, Targeted and Entrapped: Manufacturing the “Homegrown Threat” in the United States (New York: NYU School of Law, 2011)" and makes the claim that law enforcement entrapped Muslim men by "egging them on" to commit acts of terror, with the government stepping in to stop them before they could take place.
None of the convictions in these cases have been overturned. From the study:

Former Mayor Ed Koch who attended NYU School of Law has asked the school's dean to disavow the report but to date that has not occurred.
This appears to be another example where some members of academia simply do not want to adequately address the terror threat, or the real-life law enforcement methods necessary to combat the threat done within the confines of the law.
As is very often the case, the pristine views from the upper floors of the Ivory Tower are much different than the reality on the street!
If the participants who created this study glance a little further downtown from the NYU campus in New York City, they will recall the buildings that are missing from the skyline, and better understand or have that understanding reinforced of the reality of the danger and the constant threat faced by the United States.
I am not here to advocate the violation of civil liberties. By the same token for those high thinkers who think that the war on terror can be fought by the intelligence equivalent of Marguess of Queensbury rules, they are wrong!
The actual study can be read here, and the New York Times article that talks about the Koch/NYU "clash" can be read here.
Don't ever miss a thing!

Oh Sure, and the Pilot Flight Schools in Sarasota Florida only teaches Muslim how to take off fly Airplanes and not land. Like who needs to know how to land an air plane? Get real.. lol
ReplyDeleteI guess learning how to land a plane is overrated for some.
ReplyDeleteOne little question. How did the U.S. manufacture ISLAM? Or WAHHABISM, the retro Saudi cult that breeds Muslim terrorism? Maybe they step over the line in their zeal occasionally, but they don't first convert Middle Eastern immigrants to Islam or to the ideology that jihadists are promised paradise by Allah so that they're willing to commit suicide attacks.
ReplyDeleteIn other words, this study was probably financed by SAUDI MONEY, and is part of their agitprop campaign, and you fell for it. The real goal of the Saudis is to open the U.S. gates to mass Muslim immigration to change it into part of the Muslim world, and end its support for the poor outnumbered surrounded Jewish state of Israel so they can exterminate it.

I approved your comment although you obviously didn't read anything I said and were looking to get your links posted here.
ReplyDeleteMy point was obviously that academics inside their Ivory Towers don't know the first thing about much of anything to do with real life!

The Americans didn't create Islam of course, but they did foster the rise of Wahhabism. Wahhabism itself, according to a 19th century Turkish historian, was founded with the assistance of a British spy named Hempher. Wahhabism was part of the Brits' wide-randing Divide and Conquer strategy to undermine the Ottoman Empire from within.
ReplyDeleteThough the Muslims managed to temporarily defeat the pernicious Wahhabis, they were brought back to power again with British help in 1932, with the founding of the state of Saudi Arabia. But then the Americans stepped in, and fostered the fantastic oil wealth of that country.
Suspicious associations with terrorists is nothing new. Read Robert Dreyfuss' 'Devils Game'. British funds went to the founding of the so-called Muslim Brotherhood. It was a mainstay of American foreign policy throughout the Cold War to make use of the Muslim Brotherhood in the "fight against Communinism" in the Middle East.
Read Labeviere's 'Dollars for Terror' to see the MB is a very large organization, suspiciously headquarted in Geneva, and part of a vast network of European and other financial institutions, intelligence networks and various types of illicit trade. Think Iran-Contra.
So while I can appreciate your need for patriotic sentiment, I also plead with you to show more due suspicion of your leaders, whose Machiavelianism induces them to think so little of you as to create this version of George Orwell's Goldstein to manufacture illusions they deem necessary to advance their selfish objectives.
Interesting thoughts. Thanks.
