Obamanomics: Thoughts from survivors of the first Great Depression!

Obamanomics 8:30AM update:

The national unemployment rate held at 9.1 percent as the U.S. economy added no new jobs last month, according to figures released Friday by the U.S. Department of Labor, which cited “nonfarm payroll employment as unchanged (0) in August.”

According to the Washington Post, it’s the first time since February 1945 that the government has reported a net job change of zero. (Source)

Yesterday TPC looked at the depression of the mind brought on by President Obama and his administrations economic policies I referred to as Obamanomics!

Today is a look at methods that would actually deal with the unfortunate economic realities brought on by Obamanomics, given the fact that the man is not done trying to inflict additional economic damage to the US economy, the American people and the country.

If the President continues to pursue his current path of economic policy that to date has yielded no tangible results other than a massive expansion of our national debt and the paralysis of small business, the result could be a Great Depression redux.

Below are some thoughts and ideas on economic survival from people who lived through the first Great Depression.

These are tools that hopefully won't have to be implemented, but that need to be in the backs of our minds at least until President Obama is supplanted in the White House come 2012!

Lessons learned from the Great Depression by people who lived through it!

  1. If you've got it, use it
  2. Review the facts
  3. Grow your own
  4. Cash, not credit
  5. If you have to, move on
  6. Keep morale high
  7. Know a deal when you see it
  8. Diversify and build
  9. Stick together
  10. "Tomorrow I could lose everything, but somehow I'm not afraid. I really am not."
