CNN is no Fox!

Conservative wingnuts? Liberal media bias courtesy of CNN, one of the bastions of "fair and balanced" news reporting!

If you don't recognize the sarcasm in the previous sentence let me assure you of the sarcasm embedded in the previous sentence.

This was a recent headline (non-editorial or opinion) at CNN that was so over the top it had to be adjusted to something the network considered to be slightly more benign.

In addition the photo accompanying the article paints something less than a complimentary picture of the politicians involved.

"Wingnut debt ceiling demands" became "Goofy debt ceiling demands" after even CNN recognized the headline crossed some imaginary line.

What is a wingnut? From Wikipedia comes the definition that is both derogatory and inflammatory.

It strips any facade of objective journalism away and invokes the basest form of political ideology from a source that is providing "news" and analysis to its unsuspecting readers and listeners.

Wingnut: “A political epithet referrring to a person who holds extreme political views.”

As we enter the 2012 election season remember that any hope for the mainstream media to fairly report both sides of an issue in a non-biased way remains a pipe-dream.

As much as the left will disparage Fox News as a tool of the right, the last time I looked (which is every day), Fox is the one source bringing on-air both sides of an argument and allowing them to fairly debate the issues.
