George Washington University was a funny venue to discuss fiscal restraint!
The Obama budget and deficit reduction speech on Wednesday was intended in some way to counter the proposal of Rep. Paul Ryan that has gained both traction and momentum. In fact it was just more of the same old Obama blather and rhetoric!
Consider that mere days before the tax deadline he came out in favor of raising taxes, and that the venue he chose for the speech invoking fiscal restraint is just a better than average university that is historically the most expensive in the country.
Fiscal and budgetary restraint indeed!
Cynically, could it possibly be that the donor base at a wealthy university such as George Washington University might be a great place to hold a fundraiser making it too tempting to resist?
Never mind the proper place for this speech was the White House both for the seriousness of the subject and the expense to the taxpayers holding it at GWU (fiscal restraint remember?).
If we were only speaking about what it is that would be for the good of the country now and into the future, they have absolutely nothing in common. The sad truth is however, that nobody has ever accused either candidate or President Obama of having the good of the country in his heart.
At least not this country!
How sad is it that anyone would ever be able to make a statement like that about any President of the United States? Even Jimmy Carter, who up until this administration was the worst president in the history of the union, I believe did whatever it was that he did because he felt it was the right thing to do for the country.
The blunt truth is that:
- This community organizer from the streets of Chicago;
- This protege of one Reverend Wright (although the President never heard any of the bad stuff);
- This grand global apologist for all things American;
- This man who talks more about the faults of America than he ever has the wonders;
- This racial divider and not the uniter people thought he was;
- And finally the yes we can man who has tried to turn capitalism into socialism,
has unclear and uncertain motives and goals for every move that he makes. And that, is not the persona anyone would want in a leader!

After Obama's budget speech, this video is incredibly timely:

(and funny)
That is funny, but after a couple of minutes it gave me a headache. After about only 10 seconds it made me sick but Obama's voice has a way of doing that!
ReplyDeleteIt never ceases to surprise me that Obama and the Senate Democrats can be so quick to dismiss Ryan's propsal while the President and Congressional Democrats made no effort to create any budget for 2011 last year.
ReplyDeleteThere should be a new rule in politics. From this point one lawyers are banned from running for office. Darn lawyers. Worse than a crack addicted car salesman.
