The complexity of the federal budget and debt crisis is daunting for even the most learned financial minds. What chance do laymen like you and I have?
I recently wrote an article that looked at the U.S. budget crisis as if it were a pie, with half of the pie missing in the form of adequate revenues to cover all of the expenses (see pie here).
Today, courtesy of Mary Meeker, Kleiner Perkins and The Daily Bail, the budget deficit crisis is examined in the form of two pies. One pie represents revenues and the other expenses. In many ways this paints a much clearer picture of an extremely ominous problem. The chart is offered above (click to enlarge) while the full powerpoint analysis of Meeker can be accessed below.
