World crisis cocktail: Pakistan, political instability, nukes and Islamic extremism (Video)

Crisis in Pakistan is growing which spells trouble for all of the world

In the best of times Pakistan is at best a marginal ally of the United States. These are definitely not the best of times as the risks to the ruling government, and the world by extension, grows.

A partial list of some of Pakistan's crises that threaten not only that country but all of civilization.
  • Potential collapse of the Zardari-Gilani government as two political parties withdraw from the governing coalition.
  • The always existing problem of Pakistan's membership in the nuclear nations club and the question of who is in control of them.
  • The murder of Governor Taseer of Punjab by one of his own security guards because of the leaders goal to reform the blasphemy law that imposes a mandatory death sentence on anyone found to have insulted Islam.
  • The fact that the Pakistani security forces have growing numbers of Islamic extremists in the ranks at various levels of authority and access.
  • Growing risk to the economy and the resulting social turmoil based in no small part to the increasing political instability.
  • The border with Afghanistan remaining a hotbed of Taliban activity that has proven difficult to eliminate.
  • The rise of Islamic fundamentalism coupled with poverty and the indoctrination of the young in the country's madrassas.
  • Anecdotal evidence of the crisis is a Facebook fan page that grew into the thousands in support of the assassination of Taseer just hours after the murder.
I am sure I have left one or more things off of this list, but you get the gist.

  1. Zamindari system in Pakistan

    Am from India, Bangalore.

In my analysis, i feel the reason for so much wide spread poverty in
Pakistan is due to the old Zamindari system still prevalent in
Pakistan, don't you think you can write this on your blog that the it
is time there is a revolution, as in Egypt, Libya etc.....

India got rid of this system and the people's land was returned to
them, this is the way to go forward, as of now 20 families control
Pakistan, this system does not work.

    Thx
