Is a third depression in the cards or merely double-dip 2010?

Paul Krugman, Obama Administration Policy And "The Third Depression"

Yesterday I had posed the question in the article "The economy and rioting in the streets", of whether the economic unrest of Europe that includes strikes and rioting in the streets could spread to the United States, and whether a double-dip recession, housing double-dip or even worse could pose a threat to our national security.

What Are The Chances Of A Third Depression? Let's Ask Paul Krugman, Nobel Prize Winner in Economics...

The economy and rioting in the streets

The Eurozone Endures Violent Protests Over Austerity Measures, Led By Greece

The question may be, what does the economy have to do with national security? The answer is plenty. As we all know, employed people who can pay their bills are happy people. Unemployed people who cannot make ends meet and who have few prospects in the foreseeable future have the tendency to either pull back into a depression or to potentially lash out in frustration.

Austerity measures implemented by cash-strapped governments have led to strikes and protests in Europe and Greece in particular. Years of lavish spending that was not supported by revenues have come home to roost with countries forced to bailout Greece, and with other EU countries in danger of requiring the same...

Security of the US coastline hangs in the balance from the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico

As we are now in Day 70+ of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the gusher is showing no real signs of abating. The relief wells are on target to be ready by August, but that is over a month from now, and what if this solution does not work?

Back to square one, depending on BP technology to cap a well they cannot seem to cap. Many articles have been written on the most likely solution to the problem, which is also the most extreme and possibly most risky. That is to set off a bomb...

Anti-Semitic and other religious attacks: They can't happen here right?

They Already Do And The Episode In Germany Illustrates That Our Homeland Security Is No Less Threatened

At a street festival in Hanover, Germany, a Jewish dance troupe was stoned by Arab youths who yelled anti-Semitic slurs through a megaphone during the attack. There were nine attackers of which six have been caught. Five of the attackers were Arabic immigrants to Germany. Just in case the attack itself was not bad enough, the ages of some of the attackers were as young as nine years old...

It is one thing that the Cordoba House, with it's relatively harmless sounding name, will be located in ridiculously close proximity to the site of the worst terrorist attack in US history. Is Obama Muslim? The Egyptian PM says yes he is! (Video)

The Controversy Over President Obama's Muslim Faith Does Not Go Away Even In Light Of the Gen. McChrystal Controversy

As with most controversial issues that surround this President both now, and during the campaign for the office that he currently holds as leader of the free world, the mainstream media has covered none of them with any depth if at all.

During the campaign we had the Reverend Wright, William Ayers and other questions about now President Obama's past. None were covered because of the country's desire, led by the media, for the "yes we can" man of "change" to get this office.

Nuclear redux: Is this the only solution to the BP 2010 oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico?

Insanity is defined by trying the same thing time and time again, expecting a different result

The BP spill has now been spewing for months with multiple strategies used in an attempt to cap it. The top kill maneuver failed and now the containment vessel has failed as it was involved in a collision, with an apparent shortage of new methods to use on the horizon. The problems caused by the sinking of the BP Deepwater Horizon, whose failure has created the massive environmental problem at hand, show no rela signs of abating.

What happens to society's as the Muslim population grows in percentage of the total?

In the book, Slavery, Terrorism and Islam: The Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat, written by Dr. Peter Hammond, he explores the topic of the impact that an increasing Muslim population has on that society. The lists below illustrate the Muslim population status of countries around the world, and exactly what changes to the societies can be expected according to Hammond.

The book as well as the author are controversial, but the topic is definitely something that needs to be explored and understood. From the book:...

Why Gen. McChrystal said what he said in Rolling Stone

Why would Gen. McChrystal sacrifice his reputation and career?

Gen. McChrystal, Afghanistan general in charge of operations in that theater, did not rise to the rank and position that he did by ignoring military protocol or the chain of command. As the commander of the war in Afghanistan, Gen. McChrystal knows firsthand of the difficult nature of the job as well as any obstacles and frustrations presented by the Obama administration to getting that job done.

These obstacles, however, are part of any general's job.

Obama and the BP oil spill update: One or two pictures are worth 1000's of words (Video)

Day 64 And Counting Of The BP Oil Spill In The Gulf Of Mexico

BP live feed available here.

Obama came to the Gulf, gave some good rhetoric regarding the situation with flowery words and phrases, used populist BP slamming language and then went home to Washington. He is now concentrating on General McChrystal and the article in the Rolling Stone magazine that basically said what the world already knew.

Since the time of that speech, as with most of what the President promises, nothing has happened beyond more tragic damage to both the environment and economy of the region as the scenes of oil covered birds makes abundantly clear. The Obama drilling moratorium...

BP And The Obama Administration Are Both At A Loss As To How To Solve The BP Oil Spill In The Gulf Of Mexico

The messiah (President Obama) does not have limitless power?

This May Come As Something Of A Surprise

After a year and change of President Obama being in office, the United States has witnessed legislation of many kinds rammed through against the will of the American people. Some victories, such as healthcare reform bill, were seemingly purchased through the quid pro quo of government. Others, such as the recent cap and trade (aka cap and tax) were obtained through legislative slight of hand where the vote of the Congress was bypassed. Even political ambitions were sought to be sidetracked through offers of administration jobs.

Some say it was to deliver humanitarian aide to the civilians of Gaza. Others say that the purpose of the flotilla to Gaza was to actually provoke the Israeli Defense Force into action,as the flotilla refused to listen to a number of warnings to stop. The flotilla was offered passage to an Israeli port where its cargo would be inspected, and if truly humanitarian aide it would be delivered to Gaza.

In much the same way as the near disaster at Three Mile Island put an end to the nuclear power industry in the United States, there is a call in some quarters now to put a permanent ban on all offshore oil drilling in the United States. Is this a viable alternative?

Tepid sanctions now imposed by UN Security Council: Iran continues to win while the world loses

Has his desire to be well liked around the world as the anti-Bush actually made him, and us by extension, world laughing stocks instead of a world superpower?

In both instances, the fact of a job in the Obama administration being offered in return for getting out of a Democrat primary is generally conceded to by all concerned parties. In the case of Sestak it was Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel asking former President Bill Clinton to make the advances...

Israel news concerning Gaza blockade (Video)

Israel News Regarding The Gaza Blockade: Mission Accomplished!

The mission in question, is the mission of those forces who are hell-bent on driving world opinion, already stacked against Israel, even further to the boundaries. There was only one purpose for this flotilla as well as any future flotilla's, and that is to put Israel between a rock and a hard place.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't. Let the flotilla through and risk munitions reaching Gaza that will be used against Israel.

Stop them, and play directly into the hands of the Muslim world. The people taking part in the flotilla wanted to provoke Israel to use force in order to provide a show for the world. As the video in the article Turkish flotilla to Gaza: The real mission so clearly shows, provocation of the Israelis was job one!

The following video is even more proof of the plan of the flotilla participants...

Turkish flotilla to Gaza: The real mission (Video)

What Was True Purpose Of The Flotilla To Gaza

Was the purpose of the flotilla that was headed to Gaza from Turkey truly the delivery of humanitarian aide? When Israel detained the flotilla that it suspected might have contained munitions or worse supplied by Syria or Iran and headed for Hamas, they gave the following instructions:

Go into port, have the cargo inspected and if truly humanitarian aide, Israel would deliver it to Gaza. The members of the flotilla refused leaving the Israelis no choice but to stop them.

The purpose of this flotilla however, was much more nefarious; which was to do whatever possible to inflame the hatred of Israel in the court of public opinion. As the video below indicates, the goal was to try and further diminish Israel and/or die trying...
