Race relations a la Obama (Cartoon)

Has The New Administration Been An Agent Of Change, Or A Throwback To An Earlier Time?

When campaigning for the presidency, then candidate Barack Obama ran on a platform of Change and inclusiveness. What we have seen is anything but, as knee-jerk reactions to current events coming out of this administration have been racially divisive, not inclusive. That, not to mention a lot of other things.

Some Examples Of The Race Card Played By The Obama Administration

- President Obama saying a white police officer in Boston had "acted stupidly" in arresting his friend, Professor Gates for disorderly conduct before the facts were known...

Mexican drug cartel Los Zetas attacks two Texas ranches

Story Broken By and Reported To Have Been Confirmed By The Laredo, Texas Police Department That Mexican Drug Gang Los Zetas Has Crossed The Mexico/Texas Border And Seized Two Ranches In The United States

While the story has not been 100% substantiated, this is the account as presented by The Cypress Times of Cypress, Texas, reported by If true, it once again points out the necessity for the United States federal government to uphold the sovereignty of the border with Mexico, or to leave it to the states, such as Arizona is attempting to do with it's immigration law, to take care of it themselves...

Just ask Kobe and Tiger: In the US, winning heals all wounds

No Matter, Kobe Bryant and Tiger Woods Voted Co-winners of the Most Popular Athletes in America Award

So what exactly does a sports award have to do with homeland security? Consider the fact that security is about more than just dealing with the enemies of the country, and that it includes the moral fiber of a society. If we look back at the decline of some of history's greatest societies such as ancient Greece and Rome, a breakdown in what was considered right and wrong occurred...

Shut Fox News down!

So Goes The Thinking Of A Group Of Liberal Journalists

What goes more to heart of a democracy than freedom of expression? This is stated very well by the quote of Voltaire which says, "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." Without this, questions of national security will need to be answered from within as freedom of speech represents a basic right, guaranteed by the First Amendment to the Constitution.

There is some discussion however on Journolist...

When all else fails, play the race card (Cartoon)

Jobs, the economy, polling data, etc. all point against the Democrats

The jobless rate stays uncomfortably high, the economy is staying uncomfortably weak and the polling data for Democrats...well let's just say they would like to turn the charts upside down. So what can be done to stem the downward tide? That old standard of playing the race card.

The knee-jerk firing and attempted rehiring of Shirley Sherrod, claims of racism by the NAACP and even the calling out before the facts were known of a Boston cop by President Obama indicates that this presidency that was to be based on racial healing, has been anything but. Shirley Sherrod was fired so that the administration could get ahead of what they anticipated would be the Fox News reaction to a tape of Sherrod...

Over seventy thousand WordPress blogs disappear over-night, but no one can say why

Over seventy thousand WordPress blogs disappear over-night, but no one can say why

Did these WordPress blogging platforms get shut-down for cause, or for more sinister reasons?

That is a good question. The web-hosting service Blogetery has been shut-down by United States authorities, affecting over 70,000 blogs in the process. The reason given was a "history of abuse" which seems to indicate that laws were being broken. These could possibly include illegal file sharing, copyright infringement, child pornography or even a terrorist connection.

The curious aspect to the case is that to shut down a website...

Appeasement of Iran: Obama leading the United States down a slippery slope

"Those Who Forget History Are Doomed To Repeat It"

In 1932, Winston Churchill said the following:

"I cannot recall at any time when the gap between the kind of words which statesmen used and what was actually happening in many countries was so great as it is now. The habit of saying smooth things and uttering pious platitudes and sentiments to gain applause, without relation to the underlying facts, is more pronounced now than it has ever been in my experience.”

Chilling words that were unfortunately only too accurate. The statement, to an uncanny extent, mirrors the leadership in the world today, led by our own President Obama...

Are Democrats hoping for terror heading into the mid-term elections?

I Would Like To Say The Answer Is Absolutely No

For the 99.999% of Democrats out there, the answer is most certainly no. Who in their right minds would ever wish for a terror attack in the United States and the death of innocents? Radical Islamists I suppose, but not American citizens. Then I read the following quotes from a former senior advisor to President Clinton, and I began to wonder about the other .001%...

Obama compared to Hitler and Lenin on Iowa billboard

North Iowa Tea Party Responsible For The Billboard: Is This Good Or Bad For The Tea Party Movement?

For the sake of the mid-term elections as well as the election in 2012, Republicans, and the Tea Party movement in particular, need to be careful. While this billboard in Iowa will definitely grab attention, caution needs to be exercised when using comparisons to Hitler and Lenin. The on-the-fence voters that an ad like this seeks to attract, may actually have the reverse reaction when seeing it...

Lebron James and "The Decision" are metaphors for the problems in this country (Cartoon)

Rev. Jesse Jackson, Lebron James and American Society

The suspense and drama that led up to "The Decision" captivated a nation, or at least the sports loving part of it. Hours were spent speculating whether Cleveland, New York, Chicago or Miami would be the proud winner of the services of Lebron James for the next five or six years.

Now I have no particular quarrel with this obsession, other than the fact that a nation which can utilize that number of man and woman hours on what, at the end of the day, is a relatively insignificant occurrence in the grand scheme of things, has no real interest in the issues of the day that truly matter...

Sunday rant: The Obama effect: physical and mental pain

Physical Symptoms From Just Hearing The Voice

Who can forget the Seinfeld episode when Kramer would go into seizures upon hearing Mary Hart's voice on television? It took some time to figure out the cause, but connecting the dots it was suddenly very obvious that there was something in that sound that would set him off.

The seemingly downward spiral of the American political and social landscape since President Obama came into office has created a somewhat similar effect for me, sans seizures, and I would venture to say a great many Americans as well as others around the world are suffering along with me.

It is a palpable sinking feeling in the pit of the stomach when the President is reading off of the tele-prompter. The feeling grows even stronger when he is speaking off the cuff. The result is the involuntary urge and then involuntary movement of the hand to either change the channel or at the very least shut the volume of the radio or the television. This, although you are still able to imagine what is being said, so the symptoms don't really go away.

It is a mental vision that emerges of a future under a socialistic regime in a country that is allowing the terms to be dictated to us, rather than doing the dictating. It is a feeling of impending doom having a leader who I unfortunately believe does not have the country's best interests at heart.

It is the constant pandering to factions who are owed favors, the focus on issues that at this point in time need to be put on the back burner in order to focus on those many times more critical, while ignoring or mishandling the area that a president is actually most responsible for: national security.

Now don't get me wrong. These physical feelings are not unique to just the President's voice. Robert Gibbs, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid to name just a few of those who often conjure up even stronger feelings of physical and mental discomfort.

I imagine the impact that a potential Republican victory in November may have as the Democrats do their best to ram through more inferior legislation, such as cap and trade, prior to leaving office. Again, that sinking feeling grows stronger.

As I watch our country becoming weaker fiscally and militarily through Democrat led Washington policies, as we follow the path of appeasement with our enemies while distancing ourselves from our friends, continue to cede decision making to organizations such as the United Nations while dithering on national security issues, I wonder what the country and world will be like down the road when my children grow up.

Then I realize all is not lost yet and hope begins to resurface. I realize that some Democrats, once blindly loyal to this President, are slowly but definitely beginning to turn as even they realize the damage that this administration is doing to the country. Who could have ever imagined James Carville lambasting the White House. I also realize that grass-roots movements such as the Tea Party, can mobilize people to get out and lobby against the changes that the administration is attempting to implement that are so bad for the country. The political process can still work.

Then I saw Robert Gibbs on Meet The Press. Damn it!

Appeasement failed with Hitler, why would it work today?

Radical Islam Will Not Be Stopped Through Appeasement Much As Hitler Was Not Stopped

Back in October of 2009, I wrote the first of many articles touching upon the fact that the Obama administration policy of appeasing those who want to do us harm will be an utter failure. The title is "The price of appeasement. Remember Hitler?", and it focused mainly on Iran and its' nuclear ambitions. While those ambitions have not abated and continue on in the face of sanctions, other major dangers around the world obviously exist.

Radical Islam And A Must Read Article By Matt Ross

In the article "Are we Reliving the 1930’s: Weak Leadership and Appeasement", Matt Ross uses much the same argument describing the Obama administration's appeasement approach to radical Islam and the European approach to Hitler.

I leave you with this short excerpt,

Japan to build an Imperial Temple on land adjacent to Pearl Harbor

Very interesting take based on an imaginary news report in December of 1951

What would the reaction of the American people and our politicians have been if in fact this was a true headline, merely ten years after Japan had attacked Pearl Harbor and killed over 2,000 Americans?

Would the citizens and leaders on the island of Hawaii, as well as around the rest of the country, have welcomed it with open arms?

Would the promise of a sizable investment have superseded the fact that the Japanese would have basically been declaring a victory in the war they declared against the United States?

Is allowing a mosque...

Russian spy swap done, now what about nukes?

Now That The Spies Are Gone, What Is The Obama Administration's Plan For Our Nuclear Arsenal And National Defense?

Mixed signals typical of the administration. Talk of deterrence, nonproliferation and the modernization of our nuclear weapons stockpile on the one hand, while pontificating naively about a world with zero nuclear weapons on the other.

In an obvious statement the President has said that a world without nuclear weapons would be a safer place. Pursuing a strategy based on this utopia, however, would be devastating to the security of the nation.

The President, with talk of deterrence, supports a ban on nuclear weapons testing...

Rumored Russian spy swap deal reminiscent of Cold War

Eighteen months into office, Obama has brought us back to the Cold War with spy swaps and nuclear treaties

The Obama administration seems to be in quite a hurry to rid themselves of the potential front-page headlines that would go along with any trials involving Russian spies, the intelligence these spies may have collected and why it is that they were able to operate in the United States. This urgency comes ahead of the mid-term elections in November which may suggest a political motivation.

Russia is seemingly anxious to execute the swap...

Unhappy 5-Year Anniversary: London Subway and Bus Bombings, July 7, 2005

The events that took place on that date were specific to Britain, or were they? Not if we remember 9/11 they aren't! Is the United States, our Department of Homeland Security and local law enforcement doing all that they can do to prevent a similar occurrence from happening on our soil? Are the NYC subway system, bridges and tunnels not attractive targets to terrorists?

In a democracy there are of course limits to the actions of the authorities, but the bottom line is that we should not let political correctness force us into a situation where we are operating with one hand tied behind our backs.

On the 5-year anniversary of this horrific terrorist attack carried out by 4 British men, or homegrown terrorists, in which 52 innocent people died, a study that was prepared by the non-partisan group, The Centre for Social Cohesion is due to be released. The title of the study is Islamist Terrorism: the British Connections...

Great Depression or Great Recession: What's the difference?

Remember, A Recession Is When Your Neighbor Loses His Job, And A Depression Is When You Lose Yours! A Rose By Any Other Name Still Smells As Sweet, But What Does This Have To Do With Homeland Security?

Plenty! On Friday President Obama said that the economy was tracking in the right direction which in Washington, in an election year, means supposedly gaining strength. Also on Friday, in the article "Obama says economy is headed in the right direction," I opined that I was not exactly sure what numbers it was that the President was looking at to come to this conclussion, but by all accounts it appears that we are heading into a double-dip recession at the very least.

Hungry families and feelings of helplessness...

Obama and national security: Does the American public approve or disapprove of his performance?

War on Terror: Is the United States under the leadership of President Obama winning or losing?

Much has been written about and debated in the media concerning the prosecution of the war on terror by the Obama administration. While many American's did not agree with some of the policies of President Bush, such as the invasion of Iraq, there was no doubt regarding his steadfast commitment to preventing any terrorist attacks on the United States after the 9/11 attacks in 2001.

The United States continues to face both new and old security issues including al-Qaeda, Iranian nukes, North Korea, illegal immigration along the US Mexico border and now Russia spies such as Anna Chapman, the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and Islamic extremism that is attempting to spread Sharia law within the US.
