There ain't no rules here, we're trying to accomplish something

Representative Alcee Hastings, Member Of The House Rules Committee

Speaking about getting health care legislation passed, Representative Alcee Hastings made one of those comments that are meant for behind closed doors, out in the light of day. He is ironically a member of the House Rules Committee, and apparently feels that if the Democrats think legislation is important, they have the right do whatever it takes inside or outside of the rules to get it done.

"There ain't no rules here, we're trying to accomplish something. . . .All this talk about rules. . . .When the deal goes down . . . we make 'em up as we go along." Representative Alcee Hastings, Democrat Florida

This is your government in action. If you don't agree with it, let your representatives in Washington know. How can we have true homeland security, when our leaders are will to do whatever it takes to get what they want.
